One thing I steadfastly refuse to buy into is self-help. The whole scene of self-help gurus just grates on me, and I regard them with a hefty dose of skepticism. The notion that someone, particularly those aged 30 or younger, could monopolize life’s answers just doesn’t sit right with me. And to add insult to injury, these answers come with a hefty price tag. It makes me wonder, have life coaches become the modern-day MLMs? They might not mimic the structure, but the scent of a scam? That I can detect from miles away.

These days, it seems like everyone is looking for a quick fix and instant gratification, and as a result, the self-help industry is booming. Just looking at the top-earning articles on this platform, it is easy to see that it’s the self-help niche.

Self-help gurus and life coaches are at the center of this industry, peddling wisdom on how to live a better, more fulfilling life. Yet, beneath the glossy exterior and the promises of transformation lies a reality that’s not only underwhelming but also potentially misleading.
